Kautal Hore (UNITY), a Fulani socio-cultural group, says it would establish a football association for nomadic children in Jigawa State.

The State Chairman of the association, Alhaji Umar Dubantu, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Dutse on Monday.

According to him, the establishment of the association for the nomads will motivate and encourage the youth among them to actively partake in sporting activities.

“There are many talented Fulani players in the state and these children are not only good at playing football but other sports. However, no attempt is being made to discover them,” the chairman said.

“For instance, there one is 14-year-old Fulani boy that is very good at lifting heavy things, in fact, he can lift heavy things that are unexpected for him at his age.

“So this boy, and many others, can be discovered and groomed as our future weightlifters.

“Therefore, this is what we plan to do, in order to discover and bring out such talented Fulani boys to the world so that they will be our shining stars and future champions in years to come,” the chairman said.

He further pointed out that the gesture would socially lead to the inclusion of the Fulani youth in all aspects of life, like their counterparts across the country.

PASSING LIFE LESSON TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

You suffered before you got to where you are today does not mean others too have to suffer to get to where they want to be tomorrow, especially family and friends. Give out hand out to your relatives and close friends and any other person out there you can help. Remember you can only be truly successfull if you have made others become successfull. Is it not better for many people to show up in many flashy cars  than many showing up in one flashy car think about it.    Of course there are people that no matter what you do to help them out, they will never change. Still can not say that they are not those who yearn for change. Help as many as you can because that's all that matters in the end. You die today all that you have will be shared amongst your offspring which can be squandered in a day and they may still forget you. But the people you help will remember you till they die.

THE SOKOTO CALIPHATE

In the 19th Century the fula peoples led a series of jihads across sudanic Africa. In Northern Nigeria and the central Sudan, Usuman dan Fodio led the Fula in a bid to overthrow the Hausa Sultanates. By 1803, a new state known as the Sokoto Caliphate had replaced most of the former sultanates that had held sway over the region. The Sokoto Caliphate was under the overall authority of the Commander of the Faithful. Under Dan Fodio, the Empire was bicephalous and divided into two territories each controlled by an appointed vizier. Each of the territories was further divided into autonomous Emirates under mainly hereditary local Emirs. The Bornu Empire was initially absorbed into the Sokoto Caliphate of Usman dan Fodio, but broke away after a few years later. The caliphate arose after the Hausa KingYunfa attempted to assassinate Usman dan Fodio in 1802. In order to escape persecution, Usman and his followers migrated towards Gudu in February 1804. Usman's followers pledged allegiance...

NATURE OF LEARNING

Learning occupies a very important place in our life. Most of what we do or do not is influenced by what we learn and how we learn. Learning, therefore, provides a key to the structure of our personality and behavior. An individual starts learning immediately after his birth or in a strict sense even earlier in the womb of the mother.   Experience direct or indirect is found to play a dominant role in moulding and shaping the behavior of the individual from the very beginning. When he touches a burning matchstick the child gets burnt, and next time, when he comes across the burning matchstick, he loses no time in withdrawing from it. He learns to avoid not only the burning matchstick but also all burning things. When this happens we say that the child has learned that if one touches a flame, one gets burnt.  However, this term has not always been interpreted in the Same way by the numerous thinkers and psychologists as may be seen from the following definitions: Gardner...
